I love reading. At least I used to. I
used to read a lot of books when I was small. Books ranging from Harry Potter
to Mediator. Anything kiddie and funny. Not the romantic type. Ech. I do not
like gooiy teenage hormone charged nonsense. I used to prefer horror novels to
Judy Bloom. (not that im implying that Bloom was such. She was more into various obstacles one goes through at that age which i thought i needed to avoid, like the prom or boyfriends ) I would read Enid Blyton over and over again. They are so full of beautifully
written excitement. Roald Dahl was an equally exciting writer who just had
the rare zing to his writing and a extraordinary look into everyday things from
a view point of a child.
I don’t read much now. Just the random
Archie comic when I’m eating etc. the latest rage is le cine or the cinema. Basically
movies. Kids prefer to watch movies rather than read a book. Kids nowadays wouldn’t
know who Enid Blyton is. That’s the tragedy of it. I hear kids these days are
into that Twilight saga. I don’t know much about it. But im smart enough to
know what a gooiy teenage hormone charged book sounds like when I watched the
first movie. Sad to say. Not much of literature in it. Just random hoo ha.
But I write. I don’t know if I can, or
if I’m good at it. As a way of
expression. I don’t really care if anyone is reading it. Just as a way of
getting things out. Things do get quite cramped in this small brain of mine. It was a certain other writer who nudged me
into doing so. It took me a while to persuade me. But eventually I did. It wasn’t easy. Writing needs inspiration I assume.
That’s why sometimes I find myself raving on and on but at other times I can’t
even write 3 meaningful words together. Eventually
I lost the idleness and the lazy ass excuses and started writing. I found it to
be quite refreshing. Furthermore, it seemed to be rewarding. Not in sacs of
gold. But just enough to get one motivated. If it
comes to one naturally, one is in luck. But if it doesn’t one can practice upon
it thereby getting better and better at it with each attempt. And thus here I am. Writing random things about writing.
And for writers, getting paid for their
writing is like you being paid for cooking or drawing. If it’s something you’re
good at or interested in, you can easily convert it into something useful and
constructive. Theres no rule saying that say you have to dislike the work you get paid for. Not that writing should be focused
on making money. But in theis practical world of ours we might as well be doing
something rewarding.
Writing is a great way to express yourself. I use it for the same irrespective of whether or not I am good at it. It just makes me feel peaceful.
